Kinnitty is a small rural village with two small shops, a post office, Garda station, two pubs, clothes shop, playground, two churches (Catholic & Church of Ireland) and a pyramid!

Giltraps Pub is located in the centre of the village adjacent to the village green. Giltraps Glamping is located across the road from the pub, beside the Garda station. You are welcome to call to either but the premises beside the Garda Station is where you will check in, receive your key and be shown to your accommodation.

There are currently two Taxi Service companies based in Kinnitty. Flaherty Bus and Taxi Service (0861001063) and DK Cabs (0876902174). There is also a local Town Link Bus service from Monday to Saturday with connections to local towns, Tullamore and Mountmellick.

Kinnitty is located in the county of Offaly in the midlands region of Ireland. The village is best connected by road network with both the M7 and M4 motorways within short driving distance. All of Irelands major ports and cities are within a two hour driving distance.

Yes, we have a selection of hybrid LaPierre Mountain Bikes which are suitable for most terrains. For more experienced mountain bikers and road cyclists, we recommend bringing your own bike which can be securely stored, or hiring a bike from one of the several local providers with more specialised biking options.

We regularly accommodate groups whether it be hen parties, family gatherings or corporate groups, and tailored packages are available upon request. We want everyone to have a good time when they visit Kinnitty, and out of respect for all our guests we maintain a ‘quiet policy’ in the glamping sleeping area after midnight. It is best to get in touch directly to discuss the individual requirements for your group to ensure the ultimate enjoyment!

Cancellation policies are specific to each reservation and are outlined in the confirmation email received upon making a reservation. ALL reservations must be cancelled in writing, cancellation requests will not be accepted over the telephone.

Guests are welcome to bring their own barbecue sets. Disposable barbecues are available from Reception for an additional charge. We ask guests to keep all barbecue a safe distance from all flammable objects.

The glamping units are NOT en-suite. The toilet and shower block is located in the Townhouse which is a twenty second walk from the glamping units.

Our signature Breakfast Hamper should be experienced by all glampers! Consisting of a bacon/egg/sausage white floury bap, freshly baked pastries and tea/coffee delivered to guests door each morning for an additional charge, the perfect kick-start to the day! Breakfast options are also available at the Townhouse Dining Room located on the ground floor. All guests must advise a member of the team with the breakfast order and dietary requirements before 11:00pm on the evening prior.

Yes. We have a travel cot which guests are welcome to use. Requests for the travel cot must be made in advance to ensure we have it in your room prior to your arrival. Additionally, a high seat is available in the Townhouse Dining Room.

We operate a ‘No Pets’ policy. We do not accept pets on our glamping site and are unable to make exceptions to this policy. We ask guests not to arrive with pets as access will not be permitted.

We can happily provide different entertainment options such as live music to groups depending on their requests. There is live music at GIltraps Pub every weekend. Groups are welcome to put up decorations for their event, but this must be arranged in advance during the event planning stage.

Giltraps is the only option for food in Kinnitty village. Stone Baked Pizzas are served daily and Barbecue menus are available for groups but must be reserved in advance. Kinnitty Castle Hotel provide Bar and Restaurant Menu options and Birr (13km) is the nearest town, which has two supermarkets (Super Valu & Tesco) and a range of food outlets with take-aways and restaurants.

Yes. All beds are dressed with fresh clean linen with duvet, pillow, cushion and throw. Towels are also provided with soap and shampoo/shower gel in each bathroom unit in the Townhouse.
