The historic and award winning Giltraps pub is the landmark building in the centre of the quaint and picturesque village of Kinnitty at the foothills of the Slieve Bloom Mountains Adjacent to the village green Giltraps dates back to the 17th century when it operated as and Inn and a Hotel and its central location in the heart of Ireland was the perfect stop off point for merchants travelling through the Irish countyside.
It is now a family run operation managed by the well-known local Clendennen family With its quaint snugs, memorabilia of a bygone age, open log fires and its legendary traditional Irish music sessions, Giltraps is renowned throughout the country as the undisputed ‘home of the perfect pint’ of Guinness. As the saying goes: “There are no strangers in here, only friends you haven’t met yet’” Giltraps is adjacent to the two local churches and is just minutes away from the world famous and historic Kinnitty Castle which has established itself as one of the most sought after wedding venues in Ireland.
