Things to see and do over the Christmas season in Offaly

Santa’s Grotto at Birr Castle

Visit Santa, Mrs. Claus and the busy Elves in the magical surroundings of Birr Castle. Both Adults and Children can savour the festive spirit as Mrs. Claus shares some of her favourite Christmas stories in the Library, followed by a venture through the Birr Christmas Trail with the Elves. The trail leads all the way through the magical gardens and concludes with the opportunity to meet the great big man himself, Santa Claus, in the stunning environs of Birr Castle

On the Special Birr Christmas Trail, Mrs Claus will greet you in her cosy kitchen and show you into Elf Land. Meet the Head Elf at the largest Elf Tree House in Ireland, follow the magic trail to the Christmas Fairy’s secret winter woodland, and see if you have been good enough to enter Santa’s magical grotto deep in the woods. You better watch out, surprises await around every corner including characters from a galaxy far far away. Santa is checking everyone this year to see if you have been naughty or nice!
